The two Pennsylvania Democrats — Santarsiero represents the 10th Senate District and Prokopiak the 140th House District, both in the state’s southeastern corner — submitted public comments to the federal Surface Transportation Board (STB) on Sept. 21 outlining concerns about how the merger could reshape freight patterns along the Morrisville Line, including the Morrisville rail facilities and the Morrisville Intermodal Terminal on Cabot Boulevard.
More civic-minded folks in office should seize on these types of issues -- paramount in an environment where AI data centers are getting lots of scrutiny over their environmental impact and footprints -- for these very hot button issues, not to mention the East Palestine, OH derailment wasn't that long ago as to be completely memory-holed.
